Which type of base foundation will I need for my Cattery?

bases

Bases

Larger catteries sit on top of a concrete pad. We can give you the exact dimensions for this and it is important that your cattery sits with a slight overhang to allow rain water to run away from the building rather than onto the concrete and underneath your houses.

For smaller catteries (up to 10 houses) we can provide our tanalised wood bases which we then cover with a hard wearing vinyl. This will leave you with an easy to clean, beautifully warm flooring throughout your cattery.

Our bases sit on a level hard core which is a lot less intrusive than a concrete pad in your garden.

Prices:

Per 4ft pen: £445 + vat

Regulations do not allow you to wash litter trays and food dishes in your own domestic kitchen so you will need to have access to a separate sink with hot running water for this purpose. Another useful item is a washing machine for all the hairy bedding you will have.

Storage space is a must for the large bags of litter and don’t forget some customers will want to leave their cat boxes with you too!

A reception room to sign your guests in and welcome any visitors is a necessity and the nearer to the cattery this is, the better.

All these rooms can be built into your cattery and, if required, come fitted with vinyl flooring.

Heaters and lights

A safe alternative to using lamps for catteries, the Pet Cassette produces an even radiant heat that is maintained at a safe level by an internal thermostat, ensuring a gentle efficient distribution of warmth over a wide area.

Designed for direct fitting onto a wall or ceiling, the Pet Cassette is available in two sizes:

Small: 380 x 410mm, 110watts, 240 volts

Large: 380 x 790mm, 225watts, 240 volts

The Pet cassette has a conveniently placed red neon indicator lamp, indicating that the unit is on and has an easy to clean, hard wearing finish

We fit our panel heaters onto the back walls of each house with the cables being installed into the insulated walls for extra safety for your visitors.

The thermostatic temperature will fluctuate between 65 and 75 degrees. The inbuilt thermal cut out will activate at 75 degrees but switch the heater back on once the temperature drops back to 65 degrees.

The option of safety corridor strip lighting is available.

A qualified electrician will need to wire your cattery up to your mains electricity supply.
